Our Story

Roasting coffee with depth.

Santos Coffee was founded in 1995 by Brazilian native Marcelo de Souza. He started the roastery in Mt. Eden before opening the iconic Santos Café in Ponsonby, which was a beloved part of the local scene for many years. In 2012, Marcelo sold Santos to Beverage Services, a New Zealand-owned and operated business with over 25 years experience in the coffee roasting industry.

We retained the iconic name and named one of our popular blends after Marcelo. Today we continue to roast our coffee locally and supply it to cafés nationwide and for consumers to enjoy from home.
